I promised Uma that we would post something on her blog today, especially since it is her 2nd birthday! She's very excited and proud, muttering "birtdej, birtdej" to herself and when asked how old she is, exclaiming "twu". We'll try to post some pictures or a video of her in action, but you know it's hard to get a good photo of her these days, by the time the camera focuses, she's already off looking at the next thing.
This post will be short - stay tuned for more. Tomorrow we'll be celebrating with a family dinner and cake. Mmmm ...
But in the meantime, just wanted to express our thanks again to everyone at the Ljubljana Porodnišnica and especially the EINT (NICU) for all the great care of Uma and me before, during and after her birth. Also thanks to Neda, Špela, dr. Grmek, dr. Vesel, dr. Pravpratnik, and all Uma's other doctors for all of their care and advice and support since she's been home. Takes a community to raise a child, and these people have become an important part of ours.
Thanks also to all of our family and friends and other readers of this blog. We've been a little silent lately ... but still think this blog is an incredible tool for communication.
Go Uma Valareja! We love you!

Uma, Grandma Dnana told everyone at my Red Hat Society Group this morning that it was your 2nd birthday. Everyone wished you Happy Birthday. One of my friends brought me a pair of slippers for you. So I'll be sending you a goodie box of things and I'll include them for you. Hugs and kisses to you. Hope you enjoyed your party and your cake. We had a cake for your cousin Jeremiah on Sunday that his grandma made him and he really enjoyed his party.
